We’re championing BETA’s Summer of Safety
As our customers and followers know, here at Champion Equestrian safety is in our DNA. We work hard day in, day out to ensure riders can benefit from the very latest innovations in helmet and body protector safety and enjoy comfort and style as well. Our customers and riders across the UK turn to the British Equestrian Trade Association (BETA) for the latest research and guidelines into riding safety kit, and we are proud to be members of the organisation. BETA helps promote equestrian retailers, wholesalers and manufacturers to horse owners and our official representative to the government.
For several years now, BETA has held a Summer of Safety campaign that aims to raise awareness of ways to improve horse and rider safety. The campaign was first dreamt up in 2021 to inspire, educate and encourage people to embrace safety in all areas of their equestrian life. Now in its third year, we are pleased to once again participate in this effort to put safety first.
The BETA Summer of Safety runs from June to September and includes in-person events, social media lives and videos from popular riders and social media content from manufacturers and equestrian bodies. BETA wants to ensure that riders of all ages know about the latest advice and innovations that make riding a safer sport for everyone. The campaign is supported by Air Ambulances UK, British Dressage, The Pony Club, HPA and British Riding Clubs as well as lots of retailers, wholesalers and manufactures.
The topics that will be covered this year include yard safety, biosecurity, Hi-Viz standards, feed room safety and, of course, body protectors and riding hats! Here at Champion, all our products undergo careful and rigorous testing and are regularly audited to ensure they meet the high safety standards required. We are proud to be involved in a campaign that helps to educate people on what the different safety standards are and why they matter. You can look forward to our team sharing more information about safety and innovation on our marketing channels and maybe even a competition to mark the campaign too. You can also visit your local Champion stockists (see here to search for your nearest retailer) for in-store safety information and fitting advice.
If you would like to learn more about what’s going on during BETA’s Summer of Safety, then follow the hashtag #bsos23 on social media and check out BETA’s website too. This year the campaign has a weight of support behind it and we’re excited to see what it can achieve. We also wanted to share the news that BETA is gathering stories from riders who credit their safety equipment with helping prevent serious injuries when they’ve been riding. If you’ve had an accident and believe it was your Champion hat or body protector that helped ensure you were safe and not being rushed to hospital, please head to their website here to share it with them. Thank you!
