It was certainly a case of Girl Power at the Irish Grand National on Monday 6th of April at Fairyhouse when Katie Walsh’s novice mount Thunder And Roses impressively took the feature race – the Irish Grand National Chase.
Katie, whose brother Ruby is one of the sport’s most famous Champions, is only the third female rider ever to win the race.
Thunder And Roses is trained by Sandra Hughes, who follows Jenny Pitman and Dot Love as the third successful female trainer.
Well done Katie, from all at Champion!
