Fun and success at Champion Pony Club Race Days

We recently had a lovely email from Dawn and her 11 yo daughter Emma following Emma’s racing success at The Champion Pony Club Race Day at Haydock. Emma was riding ‘Alfie’, a 14.1 Connemara cross aged 17 years.  She is in the Wheatland Hunt Branch of the Pony Club and this was her first ‘Pony Club Race Day’ experience – and what a one to have! Well done Emma and thank you for taking the time to let us know how much you enjoyed the day. We hope you enjoy many more from here.

“My daughter and I felt we needed to write and say what a fabulous time we both had at the Pony Club Race Day at Haydock Park on 10th May.

It was our first time, but we were looked after very well by the organisers, fellow competitors and parents.

What a fantastic atmosphere – and a great experience for my daughter

We entered our connie cross pony in the 148cm novice race and were totally shocked when he won – by an amazing 15 lengths – and we found ourselves in the winners enclosure!

First prize – a voucher for a new riding hat from Champion!  Just what we needed as her current Champion hat will ‘expire’ this year.

We now have the bug and are looking forward with great expectation of more racing in 2016 (Sadly the remaining 2015 dates are all just too far away for us).

A huge thank you to both The Pony Club and Champion for giving children the opportunity to experience racing in such great environments.

Kindest Regards

Dawn and Emma Moreton
