Champion Supports Racing at Chepstow

The jump season gets underway at Chepstow racecourse this weekend with two exciting days of racing on the cards this Friday and Saturday and we are delighted to sponsor two races at this exciting season opener.

Like many sports and sectors, racing is facing difficult times, with Covid 19 restrictions requiring that racing takes place behind closed doors. However racing behind closed doors is far better than no racing at all and jockeys, trainers, owners and racing fans can look forward to two days of quality racing, while viewers can watch all the action on Sky Sports Racing.

The 2m Champion Hats Juvenile Hurdle gets Saturday’s race card underway at 2.17pm, while the 2m 3f John Ayres Memorial Handicap Chase will come under starters orders at 5.12pm and we are proud to continue to support Chepstow and the sport of racing during these challenging times.

Champion has been a long time supporter of the sport of racing. Our founding father John Ayres had the privilege and pleasure of owning many racehorses over his lifetime, and his love of point-to-pointing and National Hunt racing was well known to all who knew him. Sadly John passed away in 2013, however we are proud to continue his support of the sport. To see his legacy and memory live on in the riders wearing Champion Safety Helmets and Body protectors is very fitting. Champion products are still made a short distance from Chepstow in Cardiff, with the company now run by John’s two daughters.
