BETA Safety Week is an annual awareness-raising initiative promoting the importance of safety gear in equestrian sport that is correctly fitted, fastened and up to standard. Although Safety Week is now a little later than planned (it was originally scheduled for the end of March 2020), it’s great to see competitions starting again around the country and we’re delighted to once again support BETA Safety Week on its new dates of 27th June – 5th July.
BETA Safety Week encourages riders to visit participating BETA retailers for free checks and reliable advice on all aspects of safety gear and equipment such as hi-viz, footwear, riding hats and body protectors. Your local BETA retailer should always be your first port of call for equestrian safety wear fitting as they will be fully trained and knowledgeable regarding your needs and the best products available and suitable for you in the marketplace.
At Champion we work tirelessly to promote horse rider safety, making sure that you have access to the most technically advanced, systematically tested and best value safety wear on the market. But for initiatives such as BETA Safety Week, we do our best to offer even more value and this year we’ve a fantastic special offer where you will receive a FREE Olympia Hat Bag with selected Champion Hats and Body Protectors, at participating retailers!
At Champion we recommend replacing your riding hat at least every 2-3 years, depending on use. But if you’ve been in a fall and your helmet has sustained an impact or become damaged it should be replaced immediately. Champion recommends replacing body protectors at least every 3-5 years as the impact protection properties in the foam can deteriorate over time. Impacts can cause the foam to go hard and become indented, so regular checks are advised, should the foam show any signs of this it should be replaced.
So, why not use Safety Week to get fitted, get protected and purchase a gorgeous new style of riding hat or body protector AND receive an Olympia Hat Bag, for free?!
